It is a Eucalyptus diversicolor F. Muell, also known as Karri, and is 140 years old and stands out among its peers in the National Forest of Vale de Canas, in Coimbra, for its 75 meters in height. The stature, measured in 2017 by the Giant Trees Foundation, not only earns it the title of the largest tree in Portugal, but also the tallest tree in Europe, due to its high heritage value, it is part of the “Monumental Trees of Portugal”, classified by the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests.
